I have found the mentorship style of facilitation the most nourishing for students as well as my own role as teacher in witnessing growth, challenge, and vulnerability. Inspired by Liz Lerman’s Creative Response Process and the anti-racist adaptation by Felicia Rose Chavez, I invite all my clients to ask critical questions of themselves and the reader, initially having them notice the implicit bias contained in yes/no questions. In my teaching I shift away from assimilationist pedagogies that encourage students to leave their languages and stories at home; I invite them to question meaning making even as they strive to make meaning of their own lives.

"Corinne was such a great help to me when I was writing my statement of purpose for Harvard. They helped me edit down a piece that was several hundreds of words over the word limit, while sharpening and preserving my story and content. In just a few hours, Corinne helped me better write to my target audience and build a consistent voice. I highly recommend Corinne!"

"I felt thoroughly supported as I navigated the arduous graduate school application process and Corinne provided a safe space for me to ask questions and review my manuscript and many essay drafts– as their student you will always feel they are rooting for you to succeed."
-Millie Reinhardsen
"I worked with Corinne as part of a 6 week mentorship program to seek their feedback on a new book project and hold me accountable to my creative process. Corinne is a skilled editor and a true professional who is goal oriented, but also able to talk through the challenges of the writing process. They are a fierce accountability partner who pushed me to write as a daily practice when I could not do it alone. And perhaps most significantly, they are an empathetic and perceptive teacher, who not only inspired me to continue deepening my work, but reminded me why it is so important. I am grateful that Corinne offers their talented services as a mentor and editor because it was truly a gift to me as an artist."

"In 2020 - 2021 I worked with Corinne through 8 week mentorship, focusing on creative writing. I never expected to experience the deep emotional and spiritual transformation that occurred through our work together. We explored techniques to activate and focus my creativity, identify and refine my intentions. I learned how to encourage and follow the natural development of narrative; paying special attention to slowing down and giving full attention to emotions within scenes and empowering them to lead the narrative of my story development. Because I was working on outlining a graphic novel; Corrine also spent time teaching me to story board. This focus helped me to explore narrative perspective in unexpected ways. I highly recommend working with Corrine, regardless of skill level, for deeply skilled mentorship in crafting your next creative writing project. "
